Meggan Pickner joined LiveWell Colorado in January 2011 as the community investments coordinator and transitioned to being the director of community investments in October 2014. In this role, she leads the operational aspects of LiveWell Colorado’s community investments area and acts as the primary liaison between LiveWell Colorado and the LiveWell communities. She manages and develops the community investments strategy to increase healthy eating and active living environmental and policy change at the local level across the state and is responsible for ensuring that the community coalitions and coordinators are connected to and informing the efforts of LiveWell Colorado at the local, regional, state and national levels.
Prior to joining LiveWell Colorado, Meggan worked in the environmental remediation industry overseeing data management, contract compliance, process development, resource allocation and program deliverables. Before that, she served as a geographic information systems (GIS) specialist for four years, performing data acquisition, analysis, mapping and reporting utilizing a variety of environmental remediation and remote sensing data sets. Meggan holds a bachelor’s degree in geography from Southern Oregon University.
Having grown up in a family of educators, Meggan is passionate about how the work of LiveWell Colorado affects children and increases their ability to lead healthy, active lives. She is especially interested in health equity and policies supporting Safe Routes to Schools. Personally, Meggan loves to be outside and enjoys biking, hiking and snowboarding.
