Does the warmer weather have your kids counting down the days until summer break? More Coloradans are coming out of their winter hibernation and getting reacquainted with their favorite warm-weather habits. And biking to school or work is at the top of the list.
Bike to School Day is right around the corner. Dust off that bike seat and helmet, and encourage your kids to bike to school on Wednesday, May 6th.
And, June is Colorado Bike Month, with June 24th being Bike to Work Day.
Biking and walking as modes of transportation are closely connected with our fight against obesity. Making regular physical activity an ongoing part of your day is a great way to stay fit and healthy. And when communities have the infrastructure in place to support active transportation, such as sidewalks, crosswalks and bike lanes, it makes the healthy choice the easy choice.
