Park Hill Thriving Communities

recipesdefaultPark Hill Thriving Communities began in 2005 as a Kaiser Permanente Thriving Community project. The project targeted three areas for improving the health of residents: programs, environment, and policy. Goals included eliminating health disparities by increasing healthy eating and active living among populations with a high risk for obesity and its related diseases, as well as engaging diverse members of the Park Hill community to ensure the success and sustainability of the project.

By the time LiveWell’s funding in this community was completed in 2013, there were many successes to report, including: overhauling City of Axum park, tripling the amount of recreation spaces, increasing grocery store produce access, improving biking infrastructure, and more.
